Some may be wondering why X-T & I wanted a custom made card rather than getting the off-the shelf cards which is aplenty in the market today. Not to mention, they’re beautiful too. Well, the answer is simple. My parents are paper merchants and my sister is a freelance illustrator. What a great package deal hor? :p
Alrighty, now back to the business. I was brought up in a tiny little shop in Ipoh counting papers, carrying printing inks into customer’s vehicle and gluing labels on printing chemicals and envelopes. I remembered during the school holidays, it was fun to go on short road trips with my dad. I’ll tag along with daddy around Perak to deliver the bulk orders.
Being daddy’s pampered little gurl, I was always told to wait in the car while he carry the goods into the printers under the very hot sun, sometimes in the rain too. Yes, my dad delivers goods to his customers personally! As a young teen back then, that’s the time I begin to realised that money doesn’t actually grow on trees. It wasn’t a boring ride at all for me because the trips are always filled with laughter and fun. I miss those days where we could just stop over at any of the road side food stalls for a quick lunch before we head back to ‘work’. I miss those days… truly…
Here’s a few snapshots of the shop the paper girl grew up in…

The Regent Papers, Ipoh was also labeled by many as The House Of Fancy Papers. Why?

…Because they really do sell alot and I mean ALOT of fancy papers

They’ve printers, designers, end-users and even art students walking in everyday to get the papers they want here.

They do have ready made wedding cards for those who doesn’t wish to have unexpected end results like ours done by the our first doink printer :p

How about a matching envelope for your company’s letterhead or custom made cards?
So, you see… I was brought up a paper girl. My parents talks about paper when they eat, talks paper before they sleep and their 2 princesses were somehow ‘trained’ to differentiate the weight between two sheets of paper without a weighing machine! So, looking at all the fancy papers my parents stacked on the racks & all the wonderful printing ink makes the paper girl wanting to have her own designed wedding card when she grows up . If she ever gets marry one day lar!!. :p
Here’s a snippet of our wedding card…

The front.. Embossed and Coral pink was used.

As you unfold, “The Two shall become One” Eph 5:31

The venue of the pre wedding party, the Holy matrimony and the dinner was announced in soft copper..
The paper girl’s dream has come true :)
